Some love for MailHost
from the better-late-than-never dept
Andreas Jung just checked in some changes to Zope's MailHost product that adds, among other things, asynchronous mail delivery. This is great stuff - before this change, to get that kind of functionality in a Plone site, you would need to:
- Install MaildropHost
- Install SecureMaildropHost
- Configure MaildropHost on the filesystem
- Maintain a running maildrop process separate from Zope
- Remove the default MailHost from Plone
- Add SecureMaildropHost in its place
I haven't tested the new MailHost yet, but it sounds like it will streamline this process quite a bit. Nice work, Andreas!
Man, it's been a while since I've posted anything here. The plan was to use this blog mainly to provide news about the Plone products I work on, but I haven't had the time to work on those products. Work has been steady this year, which is a good thing, but I'm looking forward to a break soon so I can give some time to my own projects.
