A Greasemonkey user script to add feeds to Google Reader

For the benefit of you rock-underdwellers, Google Reader is Google's new web-based RSS reader. It's all AJAXy like Gmail, but it's somewhat clunky to load it up whenever you want to subscribe to a new feed.

Enter GoogleSubscribe:

Example of GoogleSubscribe at work

GoogleSubscribe is a Greasemonkey script for Firefox that injects subscription links into a page that has feeds specified in its <HEAD> section. Just click the orange RSS or ATOM icon, and the URL of the feed will be passed to the Google Reader subscription page. Easy peasy!

You can get the script here at nowhere or at userscripts.org

Of course, shortly after I cooked up this script, I found LiveLines - a Firefox extension that will let you integrate Google Reader subscriptions (and a lot of other stuff) into the Firefox Live Bookmarks widget. Much cooler, IMO, but if you're a Greasemonkey fan, GoogleSubscribe is there for you.
