Andreas Jung hates Kupu

Andreas Jung is ranting about Kupu, Plone's default WYSIWYG editor.

His in-depth critque:

"Plone ships with Kupu since ages. However I think Kupu really sucks and there are better alternatives."

That's ironic in funny sort of way, because, if you've spent any amount of time on plone-users, you'll know that Andreas typically comes down hard on people who submit less-than-specific information to the list.

So, come on Andreas, be specific - why does Kupu suck? :)

I agree that FCKEditor is a nice product, and would be a good choice as the default editor for Plone, except for one thing: the name. When I demo FCKEditor to a client, the usual reaction is a double-take as soon as they see the name. I guess the mind is quick to throw an extra vowel into "F*CK".

Also, Philipp von Weitershausen chimes in with some insight on why Kupu doesn't suck.
